I am particularly
attracted by intriguing textures and the graphical quality of
simple geometric patterns in a view. I look at objects as mundane
as tree bark, peeling paint, and rusty metal to create images
that transcend their original environment. The compositions become
glimpses into a different reality where the observer does not
always have a scale of reference. Ultimately, identification and
the viewers are free to interact with the image and create their
own reality. Within my own reality as a cancer survivor, I have
found that this work expresses two facets of dealing with the
disease- awareness and the fight back.
