When solid bodies move through gases, the gases become compressed or expand in ways, which are defined by the principles of fluid dynamics. The complex patterns that develop appear in both the Earth's atmosphere and in deep space. The artist traveled to
the Ames Research Center to witness aerodynamic tests dealing with the subject of fluid dynamics.
